Mandalas are ancient geometric shapes forming a sacred circle. Research from the American Art Therapy Association, found that coloring within the shapes of the mandala has therapeutic benefits similar to meditation. As in meditation, coloring mandalas allows your brain to “switch off” from other thoughts and to focus only on the present moment. Doing this type of artwork has the power to promote relaxation, reduce anxiety, increase self-esteem, manage addictions, enhance creativity, and even support healing.
